Kiki Arts Dance Theatre
About KADT
Kiki Arts Dance Theatre is a producing company that develops and presents original work by artists from the kiki ballroom community. Rooted in the tradition and open to wherever it leads, it exists to tell stories the stage has never seen.
-
Kiki Arts Dance Theatre is the performing arts company of the Kiki Arts Collaborative. Built from within the kiki ballroom community and shaped by Founding Choreographer Kalik B, KADT exists to develop and present original work that reflects, honors, and expands the artistic traditions of the scene.
-
Kiki Arts Dance Theatre builds on the teaching, lineage, and performance traditions of the kiki scene to create original work for the stage. Rooted in the belief that ballroom is a living system of care, KADT creates space for artists from the community to move, experiment, and tell stories on their own terms.
Ballroom is not spectacle; it is testimony. KADT exists to give that testimony a home.
-
Built on KAC's commitment to supporting and platforming artists from the kiki scene, KADT productions are conceived, developed, and executed by members of the community — from choreography and costume design to music composition and production.

Central to KADT is the preservation and teaching of kiki ballroom culture from the voices inside of it. In addition to the company's original works and performances, KADT artists are available for speaking and teaching engagements on ballroom culture and performance. Previous engagements include with American Express and Justworks’ LGBTQ+ employee resource groups. Proceeds go directly to the artists and to fund KAC programs.
